I have often heard the saying, "I might not be a Christian but I am a spiritual person." Another one goes like this: "All roads lead to God." By this they mean that all religions are essentially the same. It may be true that all roads lead us eventually to God but not all roads have the same result when we encounter God at the end of the road! Does the Bible say anything about the road to God? Yes it does! So let's listen to two Scriptures, one from the New Testament and one from the Old:

There is no salvation in anyone else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations." (Psalm 98:2)

In our New Testament passage, we read that there is only one road that leads to salvation: the Name and Person of Jesus. Do you think that's too restrictive? Suppose you wanted to call me on the phone. In order to call me, you have to use a certain set of numbers. If you change any of the numbers, whether the numbers themselves or the order of the numbers, you may call somebody but it won't be me. To call me, you must use all of the right numbers and use them in the right order. That's not being restrictive—that's the way phones work. The Old Testament passage reminds us that the Lord has revealed His salvation road to us. That road is "His righteousness." The word "righteousness" doesn't mean better than others; it means being in a right relationship with God. And Jesus is God’s revealed way to have that right relationship, that righteousness. How about you today? Are you in a right relationship with Jesus Christ? If not, today is a great day to repent! You can embrace the righteousness God offers you in Jesus Christ, right now. Jesus is the only Way...and that is very Good News!
