When you think of Jesus, what do you think? Do you think of him, smiling, a child by his side and another sitting on his knee? Or do you think of him as a good man who asked interesting questions and who wants us to be nicer to people and neighbors? Even more importantly, do you think of Him as your Savior who rescued you from your sins? He's definitely those things...and so much more! Today's brief passage provides us great insight so let's listen to it:

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. (Col. 2:9-10)

In today's passage, taken from Paul's letter to the Colossians, we are given some important information about who Jesus is. Paul writes, "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form." Think about it: “ALL of the fullness of the Deity." Jesus is God. He's fully God. So much so that in John 14:8, Jesus tells Philip, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” Paul then goes on to write that Christ "is the head over every power and authority." Jesus is not only God, but the Father has made Him in charge of everything and everyone, everywhere, all the time. Wow! What do you think about that!

Today, take some time to consider Jesus as the One in charge. He's God. He's sovereign. He's worthy of all of your worship, now and forever...and that is very Good News!
